DTouch for Pro Tools is a new outstanding multi-touch Pro Tools control software application.
The DTouch software perfectly integrates with the Pro Tools Mix and Edit windows, and it will improve your workflow with some non-conventional, but really revolutionary features!
The DTouch application will offer you a direct and very fast interaction with your DAW, giving you a control over Pro Tools Mixer and Session Editor you have never seen before.

DTouch is able to interface with all the Microsoft Windows 7/8 compatible Multi-Touch-Monitors. The possibility of using standard touchmonitors available on the market, will let you reap the benefits of the fast improving hardware touchscreen technology. Thanks to its Software-only nature and to the total freedom from a specific hardware, DTouch leaves a great space for future upgrades and improvements.
The use of mass market available touchmonitors, will let you build a very affordable DAW control solution equipped with an high number of direct access virtual faders. You can freely choose the dimension and the characteristics of your preferred touchmonitor in order to shape your working place exactly as you like it.

With the DTouch mixer, you will have a direct and concurrent access to up to 32 Pro Tools faders in a multi-touch way. These virtual faders have a long travel and an accurate response.
The total integration with the Pro Tools Mix Window, will offer you a tight control on any piece of the Pro Tools mixer. Every DAW control is right at your fingertips!
The DTouch mixer is so well integrated with the Pro Tools mixer that is difficult to feel the difference between the Pro Tools and the DTouch environment!
One of the most important advantages of the DTouch application is that the faders are perfectly designed for multi-touch finger interaction.

You can use amazingly fast and intuitive finger actions on Pro Tools Track-Record-Enable, Solo and Mute buttons too!

The ergonomic and compact organization of the DTouch Mix Window Channel Strips and Toolbar leaves space for Instruments/Inserts/Sends slots in the Pro Tools mixer.

The DTouch application will give you a nice control on the Plug-In parameters with a direct touch of the Plug-In GUI elements: you will be able to tweak the Plug-In controls with your fingers!

In addition to the multi-touch capabilities of the virtual-faders, the DTouch software gives you a lot of hands-on buttons located in the Mix Window Toolbar. You will have ergonomic access to the most important buttons of Pro Tools and, with the availability of user-defined freely assignable buttons, you will also be able to customize and speed-up your workflow!

The combined use of Banking and "Mixer Views" store and recall, will give you a simple method to manage your high tracks number session.

In the Edit Window Toolbar, you will have ergonomic access to the Transport controls and buttons and you will find a powerful session Navigation/Zoom tool too.
Moreover, the DTouch application will offer you an additional set of touch-enabled buttons for immediate access to the Pro-Tools editing tools. With the Pro Tools Edit Window right under your hands, you will be able to draw directly any automation parameter with your fingertips. You will feel to actually touch the Pro Tools GUI!

 

 

DTouch Macros

 

The DTouch Macro-Editor is a very powerful tool that will allow you to create special function buttons with the power of a Macro Language. You will be able to build complex sequence of keycommands, record and play mouse moves and clicks, interact with Pro Tools windows and much more.

DTouch Macro-Editor is one of the most powerful macro engine available on the market. You will be able to build incredibly complex and interactive macros with the help of a simple macro builder GUI or by using the power of an outstanding embedded Python Scripting Language Interpreter. The use of Python language and a dedicated API opens an incredible amount of future improvements to your workflow.

 

DTouch is distributed with a continuously updated Macro Library developed by Aida Sound.

You will also be able to Import and Export your preferred Macros and share your DTouch settings and Macro Library across multiple workstations.

 

DTouch Macro-Editor gives you a tool able to map Macros to your tactile workstation keyboard; with this tool, you will be able to remap any shortcut or complex macro to a custom keyboard layout.

Physical External Controller

 

With DTouch you have the option to connect any external HUI-compatible or MackieControl -compatible DAW controller. This will combine the power of DTouch versatility with the feeling of a physical fader, bringing you the ultimate experience in DAW control.

For the first time you will be able to have a Pro Tools hybrid multi-touch controller with a mix of both the touchscreen and physical faders/rotaries advantages.

DTouch has a lightning fast method to map external physical faders to Pro Tools Mixer tracks.

 

The use of the physical rotary knob for the Plug-In parameters change is an incredibly useful and fast tool; touch the Plug-In GUI virtual knob and rotate the real one: it is fast, intuitive and accurate!

In general, DTouch does NOT support the connection of any other control surfaces to Pro Tools while DTouch itself is running. The only exception to this rule are EUCON controllers, including the Pro Tools | Control iPad app. However, you need to learn about some little differences in operation while using an EUCON Control Surface connected directly to Pro Tools while you are using DTouch. Please refer to the DTouch User Guide for them.
We make no implicit warranty that external Control Surfaces can work in any useful way, or that they will be supported in the future.

Supported Touch-Monitors:
For best user experience, you will need a multitouch-monitor to run the DTouch application. You can also start the application without a touchscreen, using it with your mouse.

You can mix any type of touchmonitors and regular monitors for the most complex multi-monitor setup.

Currently, DTouch support the following officially tested touchmonitors:

- Hannspree Hanns.G HT 273 HPB
- PQ Labs G4S IR Multi-Touch Overlay

 

PLEASE NOTE that the touchscreen model you choose is IMPORTANT.

Supported Physical External Controllers:

DTouch supports any HUI-compatible or MackieControl-compatible physical external controller.

You can connect single fader controllers (like PreSonus FADERPORT) or multi-faders controllers (8 faders or more).

If your External Controller is not HUI or MackieControl compatible, contact us for more information.

You can connect an EUCON Control Surface directly to Pro Tools while using DTouch, but not directly to DTouch. Please refer to the DTouch User Guide for details.

Just after the installation, the application will be unlicensed and will run in Trial Mode.

(Trial Version Limitations: only 6 Track virtual faders send value messages to Pro Tools; in addition, DTouch will work for 60 minutes after startup, then it will close and will need to be started again)
